RSSToday marks the 20th anniversary of the adoption of the EU's Green Line Regulation for Cyprus. The Regulation has enabled Greek Cypriots and Turkish Cypriots to cross the ‘Green Line' and the United Nations' controlled buffer zone in Cyprus.
On 1 May 2004, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia, Hungary, Malta, Poland, Slovakia and Slovenia all joined the EU. At a celebration of the 20th anniversary of this enlargement, President von der Leyen described this important day as the fulfillment of Europe's promise.
